He was a Director of Maybank from 1 December 2008 to 2009 and served as a member of the Credit Review, Audit, and Risk Management Committees of the Board. He joined Maybank Group in 1975 and served the Group in various capacities and positions including as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of International Business, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Consumer Banking and Country Head for Maybank Singapore before retiring as Advisor, Maybank in November 2008.
