Terms and Conditions Maybank2u ID

Maybank2u ID is the official digital banking application from PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (hereinafter referred to as “Maybank”), which has been registered to the Financial Services Authority / Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) and intended for individual Maybank Customers to perform banking transactions independently. As part of the prerequisites given from OJK in the process of know-your-customer, Maybank2U ID will ask for customer data including but not limited to ID Card Number, Full Name, Place & Date of Birth, Address, NPWP, information about Work and Financial Data, Telephone or Mobile Number, and customer selfie picture. Those data will be sent and stored in Maybank's banking system (https://m2u.maybank.co.id) and Maybank will guarantee the confidentiality of customer data which will be solely used for the purpose of customer banking transactions. Mobile number information is only for sending transaction codes such as SMS TAC/SMS OTP; and Email Address to activate security features and provide notification of transactions that occur in Maybank2u ID.

 

I. Definition

    1. Maybank is PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk. 
    2. Maybank2u ID is an electronic banking service provided by Maybank that can be used or accessed by Customers to obtain information and/or perform banking transactions via the internet network using a computer and/or mobile phone.  
    3. Customer is the owner of a savings account and / or checking account at Maybank will / has been registered by Maybank as the Customer in Maybank2u ID. 
    4. User ID is the customer identity who uses the Maybank2u ID.
    5. Password is a secret code owned and used by the Customer to login to Maybank2u ID.
    6. Biometric Authentication is the process of verifying the identity of Customer which involves scanning or analyzing biometric of several body parts such as Fingerprint scanning - Quick Touch and Face ID.
    7. Face ID is a scanning process of Customer’s face biometric to login in to the Maybank2u ID.
    8. Fingerprint ID – Quick Touch is a scanning process of Customer’s fingerprint biometric to login to Maybank2u ID.
    9. Cellular Operator is an Indonesia provider of mobile phone services
    10. Short Message Service, hereinafter referred to as SMS, is a short notification or short message in the form of text that can be received and/or sent by a mobile phone and the text can be viewed or read on the mobile phone screen.
    11. Transaction Authorization Code Maybank2u ID hereinafter referred to as SMS TAC Maybank2u ID is a series of numbers or numbers in the form of OTP (One Time Password) consisting of 8 (eight) digit numbers (if accessed via a computer) or 4 (four) digit numbers (if accessed via cellular phone) which is an additional authentication for conducting transactions through Maybank2u ID in addition to the user ID and password.SMS TAC Maybank2u ID is sent by Maybank via SMS to the Customer's mobile phone registered with the Bank.      
    12. Secure2u is a security feature in the form of a passcode as a form of Customer authentication to make transactions through Maybank2u ID in addition to the user ID and password. Secure2u works as an alternative to SMS TAC.    
    13. Passcode is a series of numbers or sequences of numbers that are made by the Customer himself when activating Secure2u and then used by the Customer to make transactions on Maybank2u ID which are confidential and are not allowed to be notified to other parties.
    14. Savings Account Terms and Conditions are Terms and Conditions related to the ownership and operation of a savings account that apply to the Customer.
    15. Virtual Private Network, hereinafter referred to as VPN, is a network service provided by a third party so that internet users (including Customers) can access the internet by changing the connection path through a third party server and hiding the exchange and/or data traffic that occurs.

 

II. Registration

Customers who intend to become users of the Maybank2u ID facility can download and carry out the registration process through the Maybank2u ID.

 

III.Terms of Use of Maybank2u ID Facility

A. Use of Maybank2u ID

  1. Customers are required to have a smartphone with at least a software version 11 for iOS users and 6 for Android users in order to operate Maybank2u ID.
  2. Customers are required to register themselves as Maybank2u ID users in order to receive SMS TAC and create credentials (user ID and password).
  3. When the Customer logs in for the first time (first time log-in) at Maybank2u ID, the Customer is required to enter the User ID and Password.
  4. If the Customer will use the Secure2u feature:
    i Existing Customer, should perform registration through Maybank2u ID and enter SMS TAC in Maybank2u ID, then Bank system will send an activation email to pre-registered email address in the Bank, accordingly customer is required to perform the Secure2u activation.
    ii New Maybank Customer:
      - If the registration process is carried out using an email address that is linked to Customer’s device, Secure2u will automatically active.
      - If the registration process is carried out using an email address that is not linked to Customer’s device, the customer must register via Maybank2u ID and enter SMS TAC on the Maybank2u ID, Bank will send an activation email to the Customer's pre-registered email, accordingly Customer is required to activate Secure2u.
  5. For every transaction through Maybank2u ID:
    i The Customer must ensure the accuracy and completeness of the transaction order (including ensuring that all data required for the transaction has been filled out completely and correctly). Maybank is not responsible for any impact/consequences that may arise due to negligence, incompleteness, ambiguity, or inaccuracy of orders/data from the Customer.
    ii The Customer has 1 (one) opportunity to re-check and/or cancel the data that has been filled in when the confirmation screen is displayed which is done automatically by the system. Cancellation can be done by pressing “Cancel” or the “Back” key.
  6. For every transaction through Maybank2u ID, the Customer will be asked to request an SMS TAC Maybank2u ID or enter a Secure2u Passcode. 1 (one) SMS Maybank2u ID is only valid for 1 (one) transaction and is valid for the period specified in each SMS TAC Maybank2u ID received by the Customer.
  7. The Secure2U Passcode created by the Customer will be valid and can be used in every Customer transaction.
  8. To find out or ensure that Maybank has executed every order/instruction from the Customer, Maybank will display a confirmation screen on the Maybank2u ID containing (i) a statement that the transaction has been successfully executed and (ii) information on the reference number which is proof of the transaction via Maybank2u ID
  9. As long as the Customer meets the requirements set by Maybank, the Customer can use the Maybank2u ID. The types of information and/or banking transactions that can be used through Maybank2u ID will be notified from time to time by Maybank.
  10. The Customer cannot cancel any Customer orders/instructions that have been given or sent to Maybank for any reason whatsoever. The Customer is responsible for all consequences arising from the execution of the Customer's orders/instructions.
  11. Every order/instruction from the Customer received by Maybank
    i Constitutes a valid instruction and Maybank is under no obligation to examine, investigate or ensure the accuracy or authenticity of the instruction;
    ii Will be recognized by the Customer and treated as valid evidence even though it is not made in a written document or other document that is signed and;
    iii Will be kept by Maybank in accordance with Maybank's policy and the Customer acknowledges and agrees that the orders/instructions from the Customer stored by Maybank are correct orders/instructions and constitute valid and binding evidence.
  12. Maybank is not obligated to carry out the Customer's orders/instructions if:
    i The Customer's funds/balance in the Customer's account at Maybank is insufficient or below the minimum balance set by Maybank.
    ii The execution of the Customer's orders/instructions by Maybank causes the funds/balance in the Customer's account at Maybank to be below the minimum balance set by Maybank.
    iii Maybank, in its sole discretion, has reasons to suspect that a fraud or transaction has occurred that violates the applicable legal provisions.
    iv There are instructions issued by the competent authority that must be obeyed.
  13. SMS TAC Maybank2u ID sent to the Customer's mobile phone can be received by the Customer provided that the inbox of the Customer's mobile phone is not full and/or there is no interference with the Cellular Operator system network.
  14. The proof of the Maybank2u ID transaction carried out by the Customer is a transaction history of Customer's savings account and/or the Customer's current account at Maybank.
  15. Maybank is not responsible for any losses suffered by the Customer related to :
    i Any loss / damage caused by device, software, provider of web browser or mobile phone or by Internet Service Providers ( " ISPs ") or its agents;
    ii Any disturbance of computer viruses or trojan horses systems or harmful components that may interfere with the service of Maybank2u ID, web browser or computer systems of Maybank , Customers or ISPs;
    iii Unauthorized use/use of ISPs;
    iv Use of a VPN for registration and/or transactions;
    v All purposes of using user ID and password;
    vi Any errors in the transmission of Customer instructions or other Customer instructions that may be transmitted via Maybank2u ID or transmission of any data or other information by the Bank through Maybank2u ID;
    vii Any orders/instructions from the Customer that are inaccurate or incomplete submitted through Maybank2u ID;
    viii Any negligence by the Customer following the latest instructions, procedures and instructions for using the internet that is delivered by Maybank;
    ix Any delay or refusal to carry out the Customer's orders/instructions is conveyed through Maybank2u ID;
    x Any direct, indirect or other consequences or losses related to the use of Maybank2u ID;
    xi Any use of SMS TAC Maybank2u ID, user ID and password Maybank2u ID, Secure2u passcode , including but not limited to theft / duplication / loss / forgery telephone number and / or SIM card belonging to the Customer that is connected with the facility Maybank2u ID as well as the consequences of using Maybank2u ID that is not the Customer himself who does it.

 

B. SMS TAC Maybank2u ID and / or Secure2u Passcode

  1. Customer must maintain the confidentiality of SMS TAC Maybank2u ID, Secure2u passcode, user ID and password Maybank2u ID.
  2. SMS TAC Maybank2u ID, Secure2u passcode, user ID and password Maybank2u ID may only be used by the Customer.
  3. Customers can change the password Maybank2u ID and Secure2u passcode in accordance with the features that exist in Maybank2u ID.
  4. Any misuse of SMS TAC Maybank2u ID, Secure2u passcode, user ID and password Maybank2u ID is the responsibility of the Customer. The Customer hereby indemnifies Maybank for any losses and lawsuits/lawsuits made by any party.
  5. The use of Maybank2u ID is the responsibility of the Customer and therefore the Customer must be careful in its use. Customers are prohibited from notifying or sharing their user ID, password, SMS TAC or Secure2U Passcode to any party.

 

C. Biometric Authentication

  1. Once Customer’s mobile device is successfully registered with Biometric Authentication, Maybank2u ID can be accessed with pre-registered Customer’s Face ID or Fingerprint ID – Quick Touch.
  2. For the purposes of Customer’s transactions, the Maybank has the right to store Customer’s biometric data.
  3. In order to mitigate the risk of Customer’s Maybank2u ID being used by other parties; when registering/using the Maybank2u ID, Customer should not register/record fingerprints - Quick Touch and/or faces in mobile device of others.

 

D. Blocking and Termination of Facility Access Maybank2u ID :

  1. Maybank will block the Maybank2u ID facility if :
    i An error occurred in entering the user ID and/or password of Maybank2u ID 3 (three) times in a row.
    ii There are certain considerations from Maybank and these considerations do not need to be conveyed to the Customer.
    iii Maybank2u ID is used for transactions prohibited by applicable law.
    iv There are instructions issued by the competent authority that must be obeyed.
       
  2. Maybank will terminate the Maybank2u ID facility if:
    i The Customer and/or Maybank closes all Customer accounts that can be accessed by the Maybank2u ID facility.
    ii The customer violates the terms and conditions of Maybank2u ID or other conditions that will be determined by Maybank from time to time.
    iii Maybank terminated the Maybank2u ID facility.
    iv Cellular Operator or Customer terminates Customer's mobile phone number.
    v Maybank2u ID used for transactions prohibited by applicable law.
    vi There are instructions issued by the competent authority that must be obeyed.

 

IV Others

  1. Titles in the Terms and Conditions this is purely for ease in reading and are not intended to define, describe, modify, or restrict the rights and / or obligations of the Customer and Maybank nor cause another interpretation of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The Customer will indemnify Maybank from any loss, claim or lawsuit from any party if Maybank is unable to carry out the instructions/orders conveyed by the Customer or if the execution of the Customer's instructions/orders by Maybank causes losses to any party, including due to the failure to carry out the instructions/orders. Customer orders either partially or wholly due to causes or events beyond Maybank's control and capability such as natural disasters, wars, riots, equipment conditions, malfunctioning systems/transmissions, electricity/telecommunication disturbances, government/Bank Indonesia policies that must be obeyed by Maybank or other causes/events beyond the control of Maybank and also losses due to negligence or mistakes made by the Customer.
  3. The Customer must immediately notify Maybank if there is a change in the Customer's data and/or if there is a problem related to the Maybank2u ID facility. Specifically for customer objections related to Maybank2u ID transactions, customer objections will only be served by Maybank if the objection is submitted within 2 days from the date the Maybank2u ID transaction is made by the Customer.
  4. If in carrying out the instructions/orders received from the Customer, Maybank requires a power of attorney from the Customer, then the power of attorney has been deemed given by the Customer to Maybank as soon as the Customer agrees to the Terms and Conditions at the time of registration as a Maybank2u ID user.
  5. Customer agrees validity, the truth of any notes, records, and communications submitted electronically between Maybank and the Customer, including copies and / or form of storage is done by Maybank or data displayed by Maybank and struggle is the only valid evidence on transaction Maybank2u ID.
  6. All costs (-fees) related to the implementation of transactions using Maybank2u ID are the responsibility and burden of the Customer. All these fees will be debited directly by Maybank when the transaction orders/instructions from the Customer are executed by Maybank. The amount of the fee(s) will be notified from time to time by Maybank. The Customer hereby authorizes Maybank to debit the Customer's account in order to settle/pay the Customer's obligations.
  7. Maybank reserves the right at any time to change these Terms and Conditions by notification to the Customer through any media or means deemed appropriate by Maybank.
  8. Termination of these Terms and Conditions overrides the provisions of article 1266 of the Civil Code.
  9. Customers can contact customer care for any problems related to Maybank2u ID transactions.
  10. The customer agrees to all of these terms and conditions. Terms and Conditions Maybank2u ID is a single entity and part is not integral with the Terms and Conditions of Account Deposits.
  11. Everything something that has not been or is not regulated in these Terms and Conditions, will refer to the Terms and Conditions of Account Deposits and if it happens a conflict in between the two, then the effect is the Terms and Conditions of this.
  12. Indication of Fraud
    a
    Maybank including its directors/employees or any other party representing Maybank is prohibited from requesting and/or receiving sum amount of money and/or gifts or anything in any form from the Customer. Any action/requesting and/or receiving sum amount of money and/or gifts or something in any form from the Customer other than what is agreed in these Terms and Conditions constitutes a deviation or a violation or fraud towards Maybank regulations.
    b
    Customer is prohibited to provide sum amount of money and/or gifts or anything in any form to the directors/employees or any other party representing Maybank.
    c
    If the Customer is aware of any indications/incidents of deviation or violations or fraud committed by the directors/employees of Maybank or any other party representing Maybank, or is required to provide something in any form, the Customer is obliged to raise the matter to Maybank Whistleblowing Channel via e-mail at whistleblowing@maybank.co.id or WhatsApp/SMS at 0811 1930 1000 or toll-free telephone at 0800 1503034.

    In relation to paragraph C of this article, Maybank protects the confidentiality of all information/data provided by the reporting party, including the identity of the reporting party.
