Maybank Indonesia Wins the Asian Experience Awards 2024

Awarded for the Bank’s Excellence in SME Segment Financial Solutions

 

PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk has been honored with the Indonesia Product Experience of the Year award in the 'SME Banking' category at The Asian Experience Awards 2024. This accolade, presented by the Asian Business Review, underscores the Bank's commitment to delivering tailored financial solutions for the non-retail segment, particularly for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Maybank Indonesia's extensive branch network and proficiency in data processing and analytics play a crucial role in this achievement.

Recognizing the vital contribution of SMEs to the national economy—accounting for approximately 60% of the Gross Domestic Product and employing 97% of the workforce*—Maybank Indonesia is dedicated to supporting this sector as a central focus of its mission: Humanising Financial Services.

David Wongso, Head of SME Banking at Maybank Indonesia, stated, "The Indonesia Product Experience of the Year award reflects our success in addressing the business needs of the SME sector amidst various economic challenges."

In response to receiving this prestigious award, David highlighted the continuous enhancement and transformation of Maybank Indonesia's SME Banking services to align with Indonesian SMEs' unique characteristics and business models. Key offerings include a streamlined financing application process with swift approval times, competitive property financing limits of up to 100% for commercial purposes at fixed interest rates, and overall added value for SMEs.

As of August 2024, Maybank Indonesia reported a significant growth in total SME credit, rising by 16.3% (IDR 2.93 trillion) compared to August 2023. Year-to-date, total credit for the SME segment increased by 10% (IDR 1.9 trillion), outpacing the overall growth of the SME financing industry.

The Bank offers a range of financial solutions tailored to SMEs, including working capital facilities, investment credit for business expansion (such as opening new branches and enhancing operational capacity), and financing options for export and import activities. Maybank Indonesia is committed to fostering sustainable partnerships with its SME customers.
