Help for Victims of Natural Disasters in Aceh and Bima

Maybank Indonesia and Maybank Foundation in collaboration with Mercy Malaysia provided assistance to victims of the 6.5 Richter scale earthquake in Aceh on December 7, 2016. Through the Aceh branch of Maybank, we sent Employees and volunteers from Banda Aceh to the center of the earthquake area in Pidie Jaya Regency and provided assistance with a fund allocation of IDR 750 Million, which was used for emergency response assistance and rehabilitation activities, including rebuilding public facilities for earthquake victims.

In addition to continuing Aceh's post-earthquake disaster relief assistance at the end of 2016, in 2017 the Bank expanded Maybank Islamic's annual 'Ramadan Relief' program by distributing aid to 4 thousand households affected by the disaster or around 20 thousand beneficiaries in Pidie area, Aceh and Bima, West Nusa Tenggara. The symbolic event of Maybank Ramadan Relief donation was carried out at Maybank Indonesia Head Office attended by Maybank Indonesia President Director, Maybank Islamic CEO and Chairman, Islamic Relief CEO and Maybank Indonesia Board of Directors.
