Since the end of 2015, we started to support "Maybank Women Eco Weavers" program, an empowerment program for beginner women weavers using natural dyes. As a program with full support from Maybank Foundation, it aimed to promote and raise awareness of traditional weaving to a global level audience by heeding sustainable patterns and creating economic and inclusive financial independence for the women weavers.
This Maybank Indonesia's Initiative (MWEW), initiated with the Maybank Foundation in collaboration with the Association of Women Small Business Facilitators (ASPPUK), was focused on providing training in weaving, making weaving patterns, making natural dyes, marketing and financial literacy. This program will last until the end of 2018 which will train 400 weavers in 4 districts, called Sawah Lunto, Tanah Datar, Central Lombok and East Lombok.
