ANNOUNCEMENT


In order to enhance the safety and convenience of Customers in doing transactions via M2U ID App (mobile banking), PT Bank Maybank Indonesia, Tbk mandates the use of Secure2u, as the mandatory authentication method for both financial and non-financial transactions, that is applicable to all M2U ID App users.

  • What is Secure2u? 

    Secure2u is a security feature that makes both financial and non-financial transactions via M2U ID App more comfortable, where transactions are carried out with a Passcode, so there is no need to wait for Transaction Authorization Code (TAC). Make sure to use a strong Passcode consisting of 5-8 digits PIN, and ensure the phone number registered for Secure2u is the phone number used to access the M2U ID App.
  • Changes on the use of Secure2u

    Current Method Change Update

    For every transaction via M2U ID App, customers will be prompted to request an SMS TAC or enter the Secure2u passcode.
     
    For each SMS TAC received by the Customer is only valid for 1 (one) transaction and can only be used during the specified time period 

    For every transaction via M2U ID App, Customers are required to use and input the Secure2u passcode. 
  • When will the change take effect?

    Secure2u is a mandatory method of authenticating financial and non-financial transactions, applicable for all M2U ID App users. Secure2u feature will be effectively in use no later than December 2023.

    We recommend Customers to activate Secure2u promptly on the device used to access M2U ID App.

    Should Customer accesses M2U ID App through a device without an active Secure2u after the change takes effect, we advise Customer to complete biometric verification on M2U ID App or follow a 6-hour cooling-off period before performing transactions via M2U ID App.
  • What is One Device Binding and will I be affected by this change?

    The implementation of  M2U ID App – One Device Binding is as follows:


    Condition Impact
    Customer accesses M2U ID App from 1 device, with active Secure2u Customers will be able to login to the M2U ID App and will only be affected if the Customer wish to change the device
    Customer accesses M2U ID App from more than 1 device, with one of the devices has Secure2u activated Customers will be directed to login using the device with active Secure2u, while other device(s) will be removed as registered M2U ID App devices
    Customer accesses M2U ID App in more than 1 device, and has never activated Secure2u

    Customer will be directed to activate Secure2u on the first device which is used to login M2U ID App.

    Other devices will be removed as registered M2U ID App devices after the Customer successfully activates Secure2u and logs in to the device with Secure2u that has been activated
  • What do I need to do?
    1. Make sure to activate Secure2u on the device that is actively used to access and make transactions on the M2U ID App
    2. Make sure the phone number and email address used to activate Secure2u are the phone number and email address registered in the Bank. Should there be a change in the phone number and/or email address, the Customer must update the phone number and/or email address via data update menu on the M2U ID App or visit the nearest Maybank Branch Office.
    3. When activating Secure2u, ensure that the phone number on the device that is used to access the M2U ID App is the same phone number that is registered in the Bank's system.
    4. Ensure the Secure2u passcode is a strong 5-8 digit combination. Avoid using date of birth, repeating numbers (example: 11111), consecutive numbers (example: 12345), or numbers that are easy for others to guess.
    5. Change the Secure2u passcode periodically. 
  • What are the benefits of using Secure2u?

    Secure2u offers convenience to Customers by eliminating the need to wait for OTP/TAC SMS to be sent to carry out transactions. Moreover, Secure2u enhances transaction security for Customers as a key 'What you know' authentication factor.

  • What if I am unwilling to activate Secure2u?

    Transactions conducted via M2U ID App cannot be carried out, because to carry out transactions via M2U ID App requires the use of Secure2u. However, Customers can still make transactions via M2U ID Web.

  • What if I encounter issues with Secure2u?

    Customers can contact Maybank Customer Care at 1500611 or +622178869811 (from overseas), or email to customercare@maybank.co.id (Monday – Friday at 08:00 AM – 08:00 PM Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and Saturday – Sunday at 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM Western Indonesia Time (WIB)), or visit the nearest Maybank Branch Office for further assistance.
